SBR Latex ALSEAL AS-730

$170.00

SBR Latex 4 in 1. Concrete Sealer, Concrete Primer, Tiles adhesion agent, Mortaragent. 20L

Description

SBR Latex ALSEAL AS-730 is a top-quality waterproofing copolymer latex with a mixture of special auxiliary chemicals. It is a water-based synthetic polymer dispersion. It significantly improves the workability of concrete and mortars. Carefully selected proportions of cement, sand, water, and additive are ideal for bonding:

  • natural stone,
  • tiles,
  • marble,
  • granite,
  • slate, and ceramic tiles to concrete,
  • plaster,
  • concrete blocks,
  • fiber cement sheets,
  • chipboard,
  • old ceramic tiles, etc.

Applications

  • Flooring systems: from underlayment to rigid industrial screeds.
  • Concrete repairs: general repairs of old buildings, patching, floors, reinforced concrete, etc.
  • Priming/binder coatings and protective coatings: improve the protection of the structure against salts, carbonation, weak acid, etc.
  • Waterproofing: general waterproofing of floors, walls, bind walls, and tanks.
  • Mortar/plasters: improve adhesion, crack resistance, and resistance to weathering.
  • Grouts: increase adhesion, chemical resistance, and resistance to cracking.
  • Tile adhesives additive: provide a high safety factor against breakage even in conditions of constant humidity.

Advantages

  • SBR Latex ALSEAL AS-730 is ready to use from the container – just add to the cement mixture.
  • Noticeably improves adhesion to a wide range of substrates.
  • Excellent resistance to water.
  • Blocks water vapor.
  • Allows for thin cuts and feathering edges.
  • Reduces shrinkage.
  • Increases abrasion, chemical, and impact resistance.
  • Increases compressive, flexural, and tensile strength.
  • Reduces water permeability, and protects against carbonation.
  • The reduced water-cement ratio for equivalent workability.

Usage Instructions

Substrate Preparation

1. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, grease, oil, or water.
2. Best results are obtained when smooth substrates are mechanically roughened or grit blasted or needle scrabbled to provide an adequate key for the installation of SBR Latex for cementitious mixes.

Application Direction

The application temperature should be between 15°C to 45°C. The installation procedures are to be as follows:
As for a bonding agent/primer:
1. Immediately before priming, the concrete substrate should be thoroughly dampened with water with any excess being brushed off.
2. The brush or roller can be used to apply SBR Latex with a coverage of 12 sq. meters per 4 L.
3. If the mixture of SBR and cement are mixed as to be a primer system, the suggested ratio shall be 1-2 parts: 1 part for fresh O.P.C. cement: SBR Latex, whereas the level of cement may be varied to obtain the required depending the consistency required.
4. The coverage for cementitious base primer is about 0.3 – 0.5 L per sq. meter per coat and the thickness of primer should not exceed 0.5mm to minimize the risk of cracking.
5. Place the cement-based patch, render or overlay while the primer is still tacky or wet, usually this should be within 20 minutes depending on conditions.

As for rendering/plastering:
1. The primer coat should be applied before rendering. If not, the surface to which it is to be applied must be dampened first.
2. The ratio for cement: fine sand: SBR shall be followed by weight as 1:3:0.45.
3. The above mixture shall be mixed homogenously and a sufficient amount of water added later to achieve the required working consistency. Over addition of water will cause rapid thinning of latex-modified mortars owing to the plasticizing effect of the latex.
4. As a rough guide, 1.5 liters of SBR Latex will cover 1 m2 at a 15 mm thickness.
5. If lime is used in the mix, it should not exceed 25% of the cement by volume.
6. For waterproof rendering purposes, the ratio of SBR Latex shall be increased to 0.5.

As an additive for ceramic, tile, and brick slip bonding adhesive:
1. The basic guideline for the mixture ratio of both the thin bed and the thick bed is suggested below:

2. Additional water can be added to bring the mixture to the right consistency.
3. The porous surface must be pre-dampened without any free water on the surface.
4. The tile adhesive is applied by buttering the back of each tile/brick slip, then pushing firmly into position.
5. Leave at least 24 hours to set hard before applying any grout to fill the joints in between the tiles/brick slips.

All tools should be cleaned immediately after use with water because hardened SBR-modified cement has excellent adhesion and are therefore difficult to remove. Solvents such as white spirit, used with coarse wire wool, help to remove partially hardened mixes.
